Wondering where the Pittsburgh DinoMite Days dinosaur statues ended up after all these years? Use this guide to discover more than 40 Pittsburgh Dinosaurs and where you can find them today!

I may be a city photographer, but I’ve always been a huge fan of roadside attractions.
I love it when towns have statues around their area that you have to run around and find. Punxsutawney, PA has groundhogs. Hutto, TX has hippos. Plymouth, MA had lobsters. Greensboro, NC has jeans. Pittsburgh, PA has dinosaurs.
Back in 2003, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh hosted an art event called DinoMite Days where roughly 100 dinosaur statues were painted by local artists. They were on display around Downtown Pittsburgh until they were auctioned off for charity.
Afterwards, the dinosaur statues were relocated. Some went on public display. Some went to private residents. Some went into storage. Some flat out disappeared.
Unfortunately I missed it as I was still in high school, so my first dinosaur photos were from 2013 inside Heinz History Center. It wasn’t until 2016 when I realized there were more dinosaur statues located all around the city. Now I’ve been searching for current locations ever since.
I certainly couldn’t have created this list without help from my friends and followers who provided me with leads, so thank you!
This list is as accurate as I can make it based on the last date updated, but I cannot guarantee location and public access. If you see any corrections, updates that need to be made, or leads for dinos not on this list, please email me.
All photos were taken by me and are copyright protected. Please do not use my images without prior written permission as I spent a lot of time, effort, and gas money on photographing the dinosaurs.
